Trade Grist Mill
Our History
Located in Johnson County, the unincorporated community of Trade is considered the oldest town in Tennessee
Est. in the 18th century, Trade was a trading outpost known by Native Americans, Fur traders & Pioneers as “The Trade Gap”
The First Powwow at Trade Mill took place in the early to mid 1980s. It grew to be Tennessee's biggest Powwow. Thousands of people would come from all over the United States to attend, That Powwow sadly ended in the early 2000s. Then in 2018 Velina Hewitt started this Powwow back up and it has been growing each year since then.
